New Hall
Since being in lockdown, residents and patients have been working hard to spruce up gardens, bake the perfect cake and experiment with new things.
The team at New Hall Independent Hospital have been renovating their garden by up-cycling furniture, paint the garden walls and looking after their chickens!
The patients have also been working hard on their vegetable patch by planting peas, potatoes and lots of herbs to be used in the kitchen once they are ready.
Newton House
Patients at Newton House have been cooking up a storm recently by trying out lots of new recipes.
One patient was reflecting on his memories of making a peppermint cake at school and one of the Occupational Therapists invited them to recreate the cake! The cake was shared with everyone at the daily coffee afternoon and was well received with patients and staff saying the cake was “lovely” and “top notch”.
Other patients have also been trying out new recipes including a prawn stir fry and pan fried sea bass with summer vegetables! Sounds delicious!
Clare Elliott, Occupational Therapist, said: “We have had a wonderful week at Newton House and I am delighted by the interest and enthusiasm our patients have shown in the kitchen.”
