Six staff have received a fantastic achievement and have completed their Level 3 National Open College Network certificate in Education and Training!
These staff members are now able to deliver accredited courses to residents and patients at MHC who cannot access a college course but want to achieve qualifications.
Congratulations to:
Lana McEvilly, Craig Price, Louise Peers, John McClane, Hannah Walker and Barbara Wichlinska!
They are now able to support patients and residents in achieving their goals and ultimately, a higher quality of life. Patient and residents can now access formal qualifications in all aspects of Independent Living Skills, Skills for Life and Work, Maths, English and Communications. The certificates are nationally recognised and are transferable to mainstream colleges should they wish to progress!
Louise Blackhurst, Head of Resident Learning and Development, said: “The staff who have undertaken this qualification have worked really hard and met high standards this year, but importantly they have shown that they are able to transfer their learning to the needs of the people they support.
“This has been a great example of how staff, through their learning, can help patients and residents to learn and progress. It will be great to see the individuals putting their learning into practice in the coming months for the benefit of others and for the professional growth in themselves as provision is expanded.”
Well done team!
