ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR – NEWTON HOUSE

  • Full-time – 40 hours per week (Monday – Saturday rota with expectation to work evenings if required)
  • £12.00 – £13.29 per hour
  • Permanent

The Role;

As an Activities Coordinator you will take a key role in delivering the provision of activities, focussing on functional daily living skills whilst reducing risk issues. You will deliver activities on a one to one basis as well as group sessions, comprising of meaningful therapeutic activities, to promote independence and wellbeing. You will also be responsible to monitor patient’s progress, assessing patients’ function, producing reports for meetings with commissioners and external professionals, capturing engagement and auditing activity/education files, activity risk assessments, and assessments of daily living skills.

The role also expects you to take responsibility of resourcing materials, and keep activity stock and budget updated at all times. This role offers a varied and fulfilling timetable, enabling patients to have a sense of achievement, when completing tasks that have been personalised to them, and within group activities.

Previous experience in this role or similar is necessary.

The Service;

Situated a mile from the seaside town of Blackpool, Newton House Independent Hospital provides locked rehabilitation, habitation and treatment to up to 21 men living with complex and enduring mental health conditions.

Newton House

Newton House is a Recovery and Treatment Centre in Blackpool that provides locked rehabilitation, habilitation and treatment for up to 21 men aged 18+ with a primary diagnosis of a mental health disorder who may have coexisting secondary conditions such as challenging behaviour, drug and alcohol issues and/or personality disorder. It can take patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.

Its central location makes it ideal to support community focused rehabilitation and treatment.
