About the role: We have the opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join their Occupational Therapy Team at our service situated in Ruabon, Wrexham. The post holder must be registered with the Health Care & Professional Council and have at least two years’ clinical experience working within Mental Health rehabilitation. It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have experience of managing OTA’s.

The successful candidate will be passionate about providing flexible, attentive and non-discriminatory care to improve and sustain patients overall quality of life. Therefore you will have excellent communication skills, a person centre approach and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will support the Hospital Manager and Multi-Disciplinary Team in all aspects of the Hospitals Clinical and Operational management. This will include assisting in the clinical support of the patients, developing and writing treatment plans, therapeutic timetables and monthly patient activity reports.

The successful candidate will be part of a wider network of Occupational Therapists within the company providing peer group supervision, sharing best practice and innovative ideas for service and professional development. In addition there is an established and friendly MDT consisting of a range of professionals from different backgrounds

You will also be involved in the direct supervision and management of OTA’s. You will be expected to be involved in development and evaluation of all aspects of service provision in the hospital, within policy guidelines ensuring that all relevant legislation, organisational policies and procedures and codes of practice are adhered to.

About the Service: Situated 5 miles from Wrexham, New Hall Independent Hospital provides locked rehabilitation and low secure services to men (aged 18 years +) living with complex and enduring mental health conditions. There is also a four bedded open rehab specialist unit for Autism and Mental Health.

New Hall Independent Hospital provides open, locked and low secure services at three separate units in Ruabon, Wrexham, for up to 32 men aged 18 to 64 who have a primary diagnosis of severe and enduring mental illness/mental disorder. It can take patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.

It provides rehabilitation and recovery services to support and enable individuals to successfully achieve transfer or discharge to a more independent setting.
