Neil Wattret, Clinical Nurse Specialist, has shared a little bit about his role in practice.
What is your job role?
I am a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Integrated Care Team. My role is to support all service users to reach their optimum level of health and independence to enable individuals to achieve their aims and goals and enjoy a safe, purposeful and active life within their own chosen community. I endeavour to deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred, evidence-based nursing that respects and maintains dignity and human rights.
How long have you worked at MHC?
I re-joined MHC in November 2019 and was delighted to do so. I previously worked for MHC for 13 years in a number of roles and although the work was often challenging and stressful, I had the privilege to work with numerous dedicated and caring professionals across all disciplines and lots of warm, funny, caring service users and families. It is great to be back ‘home’ again at MHC and making a positive difference to our residents lives and the growth and sustainability of MHC.
Is there anything you would like MHC staff to know which you think would be helpful to their role and yours?
I personally have over 30 years’ experience working in a variety of roles within health and social care settings as a Nurse Practitioner including being a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the NHS. The team has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience within their clinical field and this experience can assist you in delivering better care to your residents.
